Molybdenum, which belongs to hexagonal crystal system, is a metallic element with lead gray color and metallic luster. Its proportion is from 4.7 to 4.8, hardness 1 to 1.5 and melting point 795 ℃. MoS2 is easily oxidized to MoS3 when it is heated to 400 ~ 500 ℃. Nitric acid and aqua regia can contribute to the resolution of molybdenite (MoS2). Molybdenum has advantages such as high strength, high melting point, corrosion resistant, and abrasion resistant. So it has been widely used in industry.
